Buying and selling safely
Last updated: 26 October 2026
ReSnap doesn't handle money or items. These simple rules keep both sides safe.
For buyers
- Meet in a busy public place in daytime, or at a camera shop or service centre.
- Test everything: power on, shoot photos and video, check every button, the sensor, lens glass (fungus, haze, scratches), ports and batteries. Check the shutter count yourself.
- Ask for the bill. Make sure the serial number on the gear matches the bill and box.
- Don't pay advance money to someone you haven't met. Avoid “courier only” deals with strangers. Pay only after you've checked the item.
- Prices far below market are a warning sign.
For sellers
- Never hand over gear before you have the full payment in your account (not just a screenshot).
- Watch out for fake payment messages, “overpayment” tricks and requests to share OTPs. ReSnap will never ask for your OTP or password.
- Take someone with you when you meet.
